Happy 1st Birthday!

Can you believe it? A Fairytale World turns one today!? Whoop, whoop! Celebrate with me! 365 long days that were so worth it! I can hardly believe this, one long roller coaster ride. I remember that my new year’s resolution for 2012 was to actively maintain this blog and now I have achieved that. Now I am more than ready to see the next 365 days of dramas.

Starting this blog wasn’t exactly hard but it was maintaining it and putting up quality work time after time that was the hardest part. I have procrastinated and just been lazy but it is my love for dramas that keep me pumped time and time again. Sometimes, I just feel the urge to abandon my blog but again, it is my love for drama that keeps me striving on.

I love reading recaps and people’s opinions on dramas and I decided that since I love stalking other people’s blogs (hehehehe!), I should make some contribution to the drama world and start my own blog too. Reading through a recap is easy work; I would just breeze through it but it wasn’t until I started to recap myself that I realised the time and effort spent into writing a recap. I sometimes spend excessive amounts of time just to get a recap out, and considering that each recap takes me about 3 hours to write I realise just how much of my time that I devote to my blog. And I am willing to spend my time here because I love my dramas. Writing a recap is not easy, many people might think so, it is only a thousand and something words but really it is not just that. There is blood and sweat with every recap and every word. A recap is not just re-telling of an ep because it is also a way of expression, a way of expressing how one feels towards an ep. I have read through numerous recaps by different authors on the same ep and what I realise is that everybody writes it in a different way to each other and what everyone has in common between them is that they write to express their opinions.

Writing a recap is strenuous work (not that I am complaining because I love dramaing), it requires you to have the patience to watch and note down what is happening scene by scene and it also requires you to dig deeper into your brain and break down certain elements. Also, the time it takes to write a recap depends on how detailed you are. Before starting this blog, I never once thought about the work behind a recap and now that since I am also apart of this world I value those who recap and the effort that they put behind it.

Just throughout this year alone I have learnt so many things with blogging and I have watched myself improve. Looking back, I can see that I have not only improved with my writing but my screen capturing and even how I layout my blog. Initially  my writing was shallow but now, if I dare to say, it is quite dense and thoroughly expresses how I feel towards and ep. Also, when I first did my screen capturings, they would have a black border around it, which at that time I thought made me unique, but now I realise that screen capture is about capturing the best and most appropriate picture for that scene. I am just amazed with so much that I have learnt just on blogging alone.

This blog not only changed as I changed but grew as I grew and here it elicits a lot of emotions from me. I remember when I just started I barely had 10 views a day but I persisted on because of my interest and now I feel so touched and fortunate that I get excessive of 700-1000 views a day and this is all because of my dearest readers, for which I am most-utterly thankful for.

I love to drama and I am grateful to all those readers who support me whether is it a one time thing or whether it is a day in day out thing. It really touches my heart to know that there are people out there who supports me and my writing. When I write it is to express my opinion and to inform others so I am extremely happy that there are people who would read what I blog. It doesn’t matter how much people read my posts, as long as there is one reader I am satisfied because it only takes that one reader to take in what I have blogged. I am even more happy when I see a comment because that does really make my day. I am happy to see people around who shares the same interest as me.

You know, I never thought I could get this far, never, not even once and trust me, I have doubted myself numerous times. Just getting to this point in life is a grand achievement for me. So I just want to thank all my readers for being with me EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. Without you guys out there supporting me I really could have never made it to here. So I just want to say a big big big thank you to of of you and I would personally thank you if I could. So thank you! <3 I love you all for being there and I know the next 365 days will being a very exciting trip. Once again, thanks for all of your numerous support for this past year.

Thanks again, and enjoy the collage I made of some of the series that I watch in 2012. (: Oh, and I wish you a very very happy and eventful new year! <3

Congrats on your 1 year anniversary!!! I always love your blog, especially when I get to read about HK or TW dramas. *w*

“There is blood and sweat with every recap and every word.”

So true. You really can’t understand how much time it takes until you’ve done it yourself. T___T It was hard starting out, especially when I used to get like 3 pageviews a day and had no clue what I was doing but…now that I look back it was all worth it. Drama blogging is fulfilling and fun! Keep it up!

Yeapps, it was only when I started this blog that I realised how much work was involved! But then again, after all the effort, it is worth it!

Haha I love your comments on recapping dramas. I can totally relate that it’s hard to believe it takes approx. 3-4 hours to compose something that only takes approx. 10 minutes to read. Thank you for your consistent posts regardless of that 😀

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY! And here’s to many more!! ^___^
