Since seeing this ep I know that sweetness is bound to hit our screens with next ep. As always, all segments seem to be divided into two eps – the build up and the climax. This ep was the build up for the honeymoon/wedding so yes, it was kind of dull and not as interesting to watch but when you have the flying chemistry and adorable couples to watch, it is worth it to spend an hour of your life watching two people interact with each other.
Taecyeon and Gui Gui travelled to Jeju Island to begin their honeymoon/marriage ceremony while Hong Ki and Mina remained at South Korea to hold their wedding ceremony. It is quite an interesting contrast to see how differently the two couples are approaching their marriage. Hong Ki and Mina takes a “gathering” route while Taecyeon and Gui Gui opts for a “you-and-me” route. However, what is apparent between both of these couples despite their different approaches to their relationship is that they have grown to understand each other.
I actually prefer the “making of the eps” ep of this ep than the actual ep itself – let’s just refer to it as the BTS – (at least for this ep). The making of the ep really allowed you to see Taecyeon and Gui Gui’s progress, and is the “truest” part of the entire ep. It really showed you how much progress that they have made in getting to know each other. With the BTS they are allowed to freely express their opinions and speak their mind out. There they are communicate without the crew directing them on how they should behave. This allows viewers to really see how they are when they are together.
Interestingly, I found that what I enjoyed most about the ep wasn’t in the ep itself but rather in the BTS section. I really loved the moments when Taecyeon and Gui Gui were communication in Chinese! It is just adorable knowing that these two are learning to exchange languages! While at the airport the two were exchanging small talk in Chinese about how long they had slept. Though Taecyeon might not have fully comprehended what she was saying but he understood. And I just loved seeing that, to know that they are learning for each other. They have a language barrier but this is actually helping to bridge them closer together.
However, there were times when language hindered their ability to communicate. Gui Gui’s English is no where near as fluent nor as expansive as Taecyeon, so there are times when she does not understand what he is trying to get across. On the trip to Jeju Island, he asked her if she was full of expectations but she didn’t understand what he was trying to say, so instead she just laughed it off and Taecyeon just laughed along with her. The two of them really know how to laugh off any situation that may come between them!
I also enjoyed watching Taecyeon and Gui Gui spending the first of their honeymoon at the beach. It was just so sweet and laid-back. They were really themselves. They really enjoyed themselves and they had fun playing with each other. I really loved it when Gui Gui called Taecyeon to walk into the water but he would immediately walk out. You can see that he is not too fond of getting himself wet but for Gui Gui he is willing to do so.
Gui Gui is such a cutie pie! You can really see just how much she has opened up since the start of the season. Of course she still has her shyness within her but she expresses herself much more freely nowadays! I absolutely loved it when she danced her version to 2PM ‘s 10 Points Out Of 10. It was just really cute and adorable to watch! I really admire her for doing so, because she wasn’t afraid to make fun of herself in from of Taecyeon. It also shows how much effort she has made into getting to know him. She was quite comfortable to dance in from of him and she wasn’t afraid of whether he would laugh at her and whatnot.
I adore watching this couple take pictures and documenting their time spent together. I just find this ever so sweet because they are able to have visual memories of them together! They are documenting the memories that they are making together. I actually like the fact that they have a camera to document their lives together, because this is one of the elements which help to bridge them together. It is because of the camera that helps to bring about closeness, laughter and warmth. It is also because of this camera that they can have skinship, making them do things that they might not have done if there wasn’t the camera, such as hugging.
Hong Ki and Mina have a relationship on a whole different level compared to Taecyeon and Gui Gui. They are by far much more at ease with each other and they aren’t afraid of skinship. I really enjoyed watching their wedding ceremony, especially with all of Hong Ki’s friends arriving and creating a lively atmosphere. Even the weather could not ruin the atmosphere. It was actually quite coincidental that the snow stopped just in time! I just see a beautiful wedding ceremony in store!
I am super duper excited to see the next ep, because I am hoping that it will be the wedding ceremony! (: I need to continue to see them grow with each other as well as learn from each other. Both couples have embraced the culture from one another and I am keen to see how they have brought in the different culture to their own lives.
