My Opinion on King Flower Episodes 11-13

I know, I know, the finale is not far away and I am still eps behind. However, I am slowly catching up! Maybe I’ll be in time for a live finale but I highly doubt it. It’s just that time has been the biggest bugger for me! I never seem to have enough time for drama any more! That said, I am dramaing at every possible moment.

Back to the drama, oh yeahhhh! Things are taking off now! Firstly, Da Hua’s identity is slowly being revealed to those around her and secondly, Terry doesn’t see Da Hua as faux Liang Yan, but rather as a unique individual, as Da Hua. She may have the appearance of Liang Yan but she is clearly not her. Initially I was scared and almost afraid that Terry would fall for Da Hua because she resembles Liang Yan, however these eps have assured me that Terry likes her for who she really is. He is falling for her because of her uniqueness, her personality was nothing that he expected which made him for her.

What I enjoy from this drama is the subtle transition of Terry falling for Da Hua. Liang Yan is still at the back of his mind (and he is not going to forget about her) but he is learning to move on and to allow his heart to open and heal. He obviously still loves Liang Yan but Da Hua has changed him and helped him to heal his heart, and in the process she has entered into his heart.

I think the concrete turning point of when Terry saw Da Hua as Da Hua was at the bridal store when they were taking their wedding pictures and he took hold of her hands and called her “Da Hua”. That really marked it for me because when he said it, all the essence, vulnerability and soft-heartedness came out. She is no longer a faux Liang Yan to him any more because at that point she has already found her way into his heart being Da Hua.

Terry is showing his signs of jealousy! During the photo shoot, he saw Guan Jun so he pulled Da Hua in to kiss him. Oh? Jealous that Da Hua’s heart is with Guan Jun huh? He sure is and this just shows that he has fallen for Da Hua already! Yeahhh, that’s the way to go Terry, I am in full support of you. Just do what you have to do to get Da Hua! (:

This drama is really allow Terry to shine while Guan Jun is just a heavy background. In fact I couldn’t care less about what happens to Guan Jun; my eyes are only on Da Hua and Liang Yan! The more I watch, the more that Guan Jun is becoming a nuisance, not only for me as a viewer watching him, but also for coming in between Da Hua and Terry. Part of the problem hat I have with this is that I still have yet to come to terms that he liked Da Hua. He spent all these years living with her but he doesn’t know that he likes her until her makeover? I guess some may argue that Guan Jun only knew after she left h, but what his character is lacking is the sequence of falling for her. He just announces that he likes her, I don’t see the point where he falls for her that is so evident with Terry. Or maybe I am just pro Terry-Da Hua and anti- Guan Jun-Da Hua? Ahahahahas!

I think I have mentioned this before but what isn’t working with Guan Jun is that the character retains numerous of the same characteristics which James Wen has portrayed with his previous characters. I don’t see anything refreshing in his portrayal!

What this drama isn’t doing so well in is the development of the second leads. I honestly thought that they would play a bigger role, but it has just been Terry-Da Hua-Guan Jun. The drama is holding up well with just the three leads but the second leads have got to pick up their game if they still want to be considered second leads! Was Qin Mo only purpose is to be Terry’s friend and the doctor who gave Da Hua her surgery? I expected him to have something sneaky up his sleeves but I guess not. And what about Kai Le? Sure, she has something up her sleeves but I thought she would have released this long ago! I don’t even know what her purpose is! I guess the most utilised second lead is Xiao Fei, because she at the very least is getting the development and screen time that I expected a second lead would have gotten. Though in my complaint about the lack of second lead showtime, I am content with just watching Terry finding his way into Da Hua’s heart.

The reunion of Da Hua and mummy Jin was is probably the second-most moving scene behind Terry seeing the last of Liang Yan. As much as I am adoring Nikki Hsieh here, it wasn’t her who stole the scene, but rather mummy Jin played by Yang Li Yin . That was super duper moving! You could really see how badly mummy Jin missed Da Hua as well as her love towards her daughter. Da Hua means everything to her, and that scene truly showcased what Da Hua is truly worth to her. Having seen Li Yin portray numerous mother roles, this one is by the one with the most depth and the most moving.

Now it is going to be time for the men to fight for the lady! Both have realised or are coming to realise that they both like Da Hua. I’m just hoping that it will turn out to be a Da Hua-Terry ending because I am on team Da Hua-Terry!

You are not alone! I am behind too but I’ve yet to write about it. Had a post in my queue for weeks but still nothing. Lol! Gotta stay away from spoilers with the finale coming. I usually drop by and skim koala’s posts but never anything that I’ll regret.
    Happy viewing!
