My Opinion on We Got Married Global Edition Season 1 Episode 15

As much as  I hate to do so, but it is time to bid farewell! Ahnnyeong! It has been an amazing ride two both couples, and I do not regret spending 15 weeks on this. They were 15 weeks well spent. It pains me to have to bid farewell to WGMG; I have been there walking with both couples (mainly TaecGui) through their adventure of getting to know one another but now I have to face the sad reality of not being able to watch them every Saturday any more. It really has been one beautiful adventure and I loved every moment of it.

WGMG ended sweetly and every emotionally, not just for the couples but also for the viewers, which is inevitable considering how some have devoted 15 weeks towards it. I cried buckets for this because watching Taecyeon and Gui Gui part is something very painful. They have spent 3ish months warming to each other but they are forced to part. I have watched them face their difficulties and overcome them with each other by their side but now they have to revert back to their lives without one another. They have moved on and so I will have to learn to move on too.

Taecyeon and Gui Gui make a really unexpected couple. They proved that although language is a barrier for them, if they are willing to put the heart to it, it will transition from being a barrier to being something that pulls them closer together. Language did play a hindrance towards their relationship but once they got to know each other more, they learnt to understand each other and subsequently language became a very minor issue in their relationship. They learnt to understand each other through words, patience and what they did for each other. It was these actions that allowed them to communicate seamlessly and within it, there is so much more meaning than just verbal communication. Everything that they did for each other was done with the heart.

Though, that does not mean that language is not a hindrance to their relationship. Language has played a big role is restricting their communications towards each other. This language barrier is especially hard for Gui Gui as she cannot fully express her heart to Taecyeon. You can really see it in her that she has so much more depth that she wants to get across to him but she can’t due to her lacking language skills. This is just the similar for Taecyeon as he has adapt himself to communicate in a way to her that she will understand. However, this language barrier is what makes me love this couple. It is seeing how they get to know each other while having to work around this obstacle. They managed to prove that there are things that speaks louder than words, and that is how they based their relationship.

Just this ep alone, they did so many special things for each other in this farewell trip. The gifts thatthey got each other is one that holds more meaning than anything else. Gui Gui got Taecyeon a pair of silver shoes, matching the ones that he got her at the beginning of the show. I found this to be quite memorable because they both hold a very special piece towards their relationship; she holds the start and he holds the end. Together, they symbolise the many hurdles and adventures they have been through together. The surprise that Taecyeon gave Gui Gui is really heart-melting. That is really touching because it is visual memories of their every step. I just love that these two go back to revisit their old memories.

I have probably mentioned this way too many times but what I really love about Taecyeon and Gui Gui is that they actually talk their relationship through with each other. This is vital for them to build their relationship. The final analysis of their relationship which they had in this ep is probably the most direct and to-heart one they have had. They really spilled their hearts on how they feel about each other. She told him that she didn’t want to change him but I think throughout the course of their relationship they have changed each other, little by little. They were by each other’s side for three months so there is no doubt that they have learnt to adapt to one another. The presence of one another has helped both Gui Gui and Taecyeon to further explore themselves as well as each other. I am glad that they were able to tell how they felt of each other during their time together.

The parting at the train station was heart-drenching. Gui Gui was really reluctant in letting Taecyeon go; she just didn’t want their relationship to end so soon. Gui Gui went into this relationship whole-heartedly and with sincerity. She also put in a lot of emotion so parting this make parting very difficult for her. I just felt so much for her; you can really feel her pain and reluctance for their relationship to end. She really made me shed buckets! I just love how much she has invested into this relationship. This wasn’t just a job for her, it was more than that; it was about establishing a cultural relationship and getting to meet a new friend. This is why she put so much effort into this relationship and why she was so pained in letting it go.

It isn’t just Taecyeon who she will miss, but also the rest of the BTS crew. From the making films, it shows that she has a really close relationship with the BTS crew. I just love the way that Gui Gui treats those around her. She is such a kind person, and she does not forget the BTS crew. It was so cute to see her hand out t-shirts to the BTS crew and really thank them. She is just very thoughtful and really treasures the work that other people do.

I haven’t grown to love Hong Ki and Mina as much as I love Taecyeon and Gui Gui. They are both very different couples and appeal differently to different people. However, I did enjoy watching their progress. They really do pass it as a real couple because they are just so comfortable with each other! I just love the skinship that they have with each other. It just comes so naturally and easily. They definitely have warmed up to each other a lot since their first meeting because now they can talk just about anything and they are able to comfort each other.

I am sad to see them part but I am glad that they parted on a sweet and happy note. They both gave each other a surprise/gift that will make a lasting impression on each other. She made him stew, something that he asked her to do during one of the previous eps, and wrote him a letter parallel to the letter he wrote her on their very first meeting. He surprised her with a very special movie and song. I found the song to be very sweet because he wrote it for her summing up what their relationship has been. I loved it when he gave her the necklace with their names on it; it will be something that will always take them back to this relationship.

WGMG is different to WGM because it couples two people of different cultures together. I just really enjoyed watching two very different people get to know each other, especially knowing that these are genuine feelings. They were both very perfect couples in their own way; both Taecyeon and Gui Gui and Hong Ki and Mina were just right for one another. I enjoyed watching each couple grow as strangers to becoming a couple who has grown feelings for each other. I also quite enjoyed the cultural aspect played for the couples, predominantly for Gui Gui and Taecyeon It really did helped them to pull their relationship closer together. I enjoyed watching them face the difficulties of their culture and this was one of the many reasons that made me love them so. They faced it together and in the process of doing so they learnt more about each other. Cultural difference did not play that large of an impact for Hong Ki and Mina because they were both able to communicate fluently with each other. This was what made their relationship less interesting for me. However, above all else, I just loved watching two very different couples come together. Hopefully they will have a chance of collaborating again one day. (:

WGMG has been one adventurous journey which I followed through right from the beginning. With each ep that followed, I grew to love it more and more. It is time to say good bye now. I am going to miss catching it each weekend but I am glad for the happiness it has brought to my weekends. It was a very sweet story and I am glad that I was able to accompany it grow. (:

By the ending, I felt like Gui Gui was more into Taec than Taec was into Gui Gui. It was a really sad episode because now it’s all over but I feel like it was mainly said because I sympathized with Gui Gui.

I hope there will be a new season of the global WGM!

Yeahhh, that was the case. I kind of wished to see that Taecyeon was more caring towards Gui Gui but I guess he was just keeping his feelings in.

      I miss them already!

hmmm most people had always thought that guigui was more into taecyeon….however i look at it differently….i didnt come out of episode 14 to comment but i did read yours and i love it….just that i see episode 14 and 15 as one 🙂 …anyway back to the point…Taec actually had mix reaction….he didnt actually knew how to respond….i have follow Gui Gui from her first debut….and honestly….she can laugh happily one moment and the very next moment you can actually see her bawl her heart out….she is one expressive girl….however i felt that is good as it her way of saying goodbye….however taec is holding it on tightly and honestly like what guigui said before he is one mysterious guy….he hold too much to himself and that sometimes honestly it pretty hard to judge what he is thinking lols….but like you this 15 weeks with them is really well spend and i love it all to bits and pieces….most of us were like now what the hell do we do lols….with no mon, wed and fri to look forward to….i guess we just have to revert back to how it was previously 🙂

Yeahhh, that’s what I thought coming out of the series but then I came to realise that that was not the point. It didn’t matter who liked each other more because above all else, they formed a unique relationship in the process.

Gui Gui and Taecyeon have definitely developed feelings for each other but they had different ways of expressing it. Gui Gui shows her emotions while Taecyeon keeps his in. Watch the last making film and you can definitely see that he was sad in ending this relationship.

Ahahaha, yepppps! I miss them already!

Yeahh, he is really keeping his emotions in. I’m sure they do have a friendship now, it kind of is inevitable that they do considering all they have been through together. No, no, that’s no delusion!

Reblogged this on I'm random, yes I am. and commented:
I’ve so much to say about this couple because I Ship them so hard…. I express most of my thoughts in Baidu forum though, in Chinese. (LOL, have not typed chinese for some years and suddenly because of Taecgui, I turn to Baidu and lurked in the forum for months expressing my thoughts in chinese. I am going michioso. But we taecgui fans see so much potential in this couple taking it a step further (off screen of course), if they both try hard enough. Language is not the biggest problem for them right now, time is. Both of them are way so busy. But well, when love comes, you can’t hide from it. And love will overcome everything (Sounds so cheesy lol). And yeah, everyone could tell they had feelings for each other; despite Taecyeon trying his best holding his feelings in (that’s just so Taecyeon) and Gui Gui brawling her heart out (so Gui Gui too). They are just so real, on GWGM. Le Sigh.

They really complement each other so so so well!
外冷内热 VS 外热内冷的个性 (Introvert VS Extrovert)
两个都很贴心 (Both are attentive to each other in their very own ways)
Because of their language barrier and cultural differences, Taecyeon had to be extremely attentive to Gui Gui (i.e. keep looking at her expressions, body language to give him an idea of how she feels etc.) till the extent he was looking out for her subconsciously/ out of habit off-screen too. (Look at Ep5,9 & 12 BTS, you can see his eyes searching for Gui Gui in whichever direction she was at, at that point in time. Him getting distracted when he heard Gui Gui talk to the Camera during her individual interview times in the BTS)
There are a lot more, but it will prolly take me another hour or so to list them all out. So I shall stop here.

For now, only time will tell.

I wish them for the best, and hope they both stay 幸福,快乐 forever. (Even if they find their happiness separately eventually BUT BEST if they remain together till the very end).
