My Opinion on In A Good Way Episode 8

Wooooaaaahhhh, this ep ended with a cliffhanger! While all previous eps left me with some sort of knowledge with where the next ep is going to head, this ep just left me clueless with how ep 9 is going to play out. I have no doubt that the drama will put this cliffhanger to good use so I know that the drama will go on a good narrative front, but despite knowing this, part of me just feels afraid of where it is going to head to next. I don’t need to hope to know that the drama knows what it is doing and I guess is a good thing that it is leaving me with this feeling because this will definitely build up tension of the next ep. Tension is good as this is something that the drama has never really possessed prior to the end of this ep.

I really enjoyed this ep for its swift progression from where ep 7 left off. I just absolutely loved the whole 3631-Sky identities were resolved! I loved that they chose not to openly reveal that 3631 is Liu Chuan, but rather they chose to speak of 3631 in third person as a mutual friend between which reminds me of the imaginary-but-not-so-imaginary friends that Li Da Ren (Bolin Chen) and Cheng You Qing (Ariel Lin) had in In Time With You. By not openly reveal that 3631 is Liu Chuan, this has really closed the distance between Liu Chuan and Jia En’s friendship. It has made their friendship stronger and allowed Liu Chuan to open up his real self to her. Jia En is the only person who understand his inner self without the need for him to paint a picture; she is able to see through him and appreciate him for the person that he is. What I really love about them is their ability to understand each other and have agreements without speaking about it. This is a bond that they have forged and through getting to know each other, it is progressively grown stronger and stronger as they get to understand more about each other.

Jia En and Liu Chuan have a very easy-going, understanding relationship with each other. They don’t push each other nor do they try to dig into each other’s life. They just accept each other for who they are without question and this is the reason that attributes to why they are able to open themselves up to each other. Prior to meeting Jia En, Liu Chuan was a guy who kept his inner thoughts inside him and opting to hide his feelings but since meeting her, he has been able to slowly open up his previously locked heart. He chooses to open up to her while she chooses to listen to his words. I just love that despite her curiosity, she doesn’t probe him or throw questions at him which gives me one more reason to love Jia En. He chose to reveal to Jia En who his father is because he trusts her and knows that she will accept him regardless of what his background is because in her eyes Liu Chuan is Liu Chuan and nothing is going to change that fact, not even the fact that he has a very powerful and influential father.

Liu Chuan is the guy one would fall head over heels for while Ren Wei is the guy that you grow to love as he grows to show just how awesome he is. He is such a lovable second lead! Ren Wei just amps up his awesomeness as we get to know more about him. He continues to be that good friend and guy with determination to pursue Bai Xue. He is determined to win her over and even knowing that she has feelings for Liu Chuan, he is not going to give up. He is going to keep persisting on until he reaches the finish line and that is some determination that he has there! I love that Ren Wei is a genuine, sweet, goofy guy. He is not afraid to show his true self and that is why I love him. I have to wonder where Zai Zai has gone and whether he is going to appear again. If he does, what is going to happen with the Men of Steel and more importantly, what is going to happen to Jacky?

I really love how well each of the characters are written. They all play a very essential role to the development of the story and this just makes me anxious to see how the problems between the characters are resolved. Ri Qi’s identity as the stand-in 3631 is troubling Xiao Wei. She has feelings towards him but doesn’t want to get close to him because he is Jia En’s 3631. She doesn’t want to ruin her friendship with Jia En and on top of this trouble, she discovers that her family has lost their main source of income. All these troubles are piling up on her. I really want to see her with a smile on her face and not that brood that she sports. I also like the development between Ah Qing and Tracy and I like forward to their relationship progress too. I just love how each of the characters play a very important role to the drama and their developments are something that helps to push forth the drama.

I’m worried. There was a second of hint that Ren Wei sees Jia En in a different way. I’m worried with where this will head. I have confidence with the drama but seeing a potential love square really worries me. My biggest worry for this is that things could get messy and that is something that I don’t want to see happen. If Ren Wei sees Jia En as more than just a friend, it is going make his coupling with Bai Xue quite difficult. I like the OTPs they way they are now and I really hope that it stays that way but at the same time I am eager to see how his feelings for Jia En plays out.

I keep on forgetting to mention this, but I love how the first years, second years and third years all interact with each other. I just really enjoy watching the interactions between them of different ages and year levels. (:

Thank you for the great recaps.
i love so many scenes in this episodes, starting with the opening scene where both LC & JE finally loosen their tension in their own way, LC’s cute humming, LC’s jealousy & his demand of JE to compensate with her time..

No problem! Ahaha, these are more of a summary and my opinion on the ep than a recap. 😛

I loved that Liu Chuan and Jia En’s way of understanding each other! I really love that they don’t break the fact that 3631 is in fact Liu Chuan. It is a bond that is only between them.

Hehehe, I know, I wonder how things are going to be once their feelings for each other really kicks in!

The actor playing Zai Zai is ill, I believe, thus his unscheduled absence. I’m not sure if or when he’s coming back.

Ohh, no wonder! That explains why he disappeared. I wonder whether he is going to come back or not. If he does, I wonder what is going to happen to Jacky.
