On the 22nd of January 2014, the leads from the four stories of the micro-movie/mini-film A Time of Love gathered in Hong Kong for the premiere party. Chris Wang wasn’t present, presumably because he is busy filming for his current Taiwan daily Love Family which he stars opposite Serena Fang. Could this mean that Kate Tsui will have a happy ending with James Wen? Also absent was Aaron Yan and Naomi Watanabe who are probably at Japan filming their story arc which is the last one to start shooting and also the last one to air.
Check out the premiere party here!
From the BTS, the international co-stars seem to be getting along really well with each other so hopefully chemistry will transfer onscreen. Charmaine Sheh and Kenneth Ma are a couple who I am certain will have great chemistry since they both speak a mutually intelligible language and are accustomed to TVB‘s hectic filming. They are both very compatible together but Charmaine has got to stop it with her short haido! That aside, they are two great actors and get along great with their co-stars. Initially Raymond Lam was supposed to play Kenneth’s role but rumour has it that he dropped it because he wasn’t going to be co-starred against any foreign stars. All the better I say because Charmaine and Kenneth are a fresh pairing. They were really close on-set which lead to rumours spreading that they have eyes for each other. If that is any indication then they will be sizzling with chemistry which is something I will appreciate very much. Kate and James got along great with James having only praise for Kate and sporting lots of smiles. The smiles would have been perfect if only their story arc isn’t filled with sorrow. I am a bit worried about her with Chris but I’m sure they will have some great chemistry. Linda Chung and Yeon Jung Hoon looks like they had no problem getting along with each other. Despite what it appears, Linda and YJH actually do not have a communication barrier with both communicating to each other with the lingua franca English. They were even able to pull something along the line of a joke with each other which means they have some sort of comfortableness around each other. Chemistry is hard to build up in a short period of time let alone between two people who barely know each other so being able to reach that comfortableness around each other is quite impressive. My biggest worry lies for Aaron and Naomi who haven’t had any BTS shown. I hope they are able to get along well. I look forward to seeing Aaron play a dorky, goofy guy in his story.
Excitement is rolling for this to air! It is so interesting to see how people from different backgrounds speaking different languages interact with each other and I just love it. I’m not sure if this will be dubbed or not but hopefully it won’t be or else it will lose some of that chemistry between the actors. Plus, I have this thing against dubbing. 😛 Let’s see how this will hold up on Sunday.
Oh, and if anyone wants some extra gossip on Kate, Chris and Jame’s story or Linda and YJH’s segment, you can read it here or if you want to know a bit more on Charmaine and Kenneth’s segment, you can read it here. However, this is only available in Chinese.
