My Opinion on In A Good Way Episode 12

PERFECTION. That is all that I have to say.

Each ep continues that wonder of outdoing itself with this ep definitely being the best as of yet and scoring the highest rating yet having finally broke through three and sitting at 3.26. I knew there was going to be cameo appearances from A-Yue and Wu Bai and China Blue so I thought this ep would lean on the shallower side of meaty offerings but I was so wrong. Despite the limited focus on the characters, this ep probably held all of the interaction that took 11 ep to build up into 1 ep. It was dense with so much power and persona coming out from each of the characters but more than that, it was the way that this ep was neatly and delicately packaged to incorporate the fight for justice while never faltering to allow our characters to continue to develop their feelings for each other. This ep was perfect in so many ways. The way that Liu Chuan looks at Jia En is something that was utter perfection here. It was so gentle and conveyed so much of his feelings. It is a look that is so subtle that you don’t actually swoon for it until after realising what is happening between this couple. This ep was truly brilliant and again, it is another ep that words cannot describe the perfection of it. Concerts are something that just brings Jia En and Liu Chuan to further realise their impending feelings for each other. Back at Jia En’s repeat year, she went to Wu Bai’s concert with Liu Chuan and even then, there were some sparks of like towards each other. Back at present time (present time in the drama), there once again fly sparks of like towards each other, though it is much more obvious this time around. Jia En and Liu Chuan are both well and truly aware of these feelings but now that it is growing more and more advanced, it has become something they will have to learn to face. Neither of them was in denial of these feelings as such, but rather they chose to keep it at the bottom of their hearts and let things be. However, the more they get to know and the more that get to understand each other, the more pronounced their feelings become. They are not ones to pounce on things, especially relationships and will take this slowly until they can be know certainly where their heart lies and what they feel towards each other.

This ep was so spectacular in building up every single detail leading to Jia En and Liu Chuan’s hug. In the big world a hug is nothing spectacular but for Jia En and Liu Chuan’s worth, it means so much and is a new path to their relationship. Everything that was leading up to it was just perfect and the hug was beyond perfect, if that is even possible. Actually, it is very much possible. The feeling between them is growing more and more apparent between them. Jia En is definitely not oblivious to it. She knows it but this is still something that she is not ready to tackle yet but she is slowly coming to terms with it. I loved the way that his eyes searched for her in the hall and how he called her name and pulled her in for a hug. She was initially resistant to his hug but then she embraced his back. Kyahhhh! The emotions and all the facial expressions between them two were just beautifully put. Words cannot describe the perfection between them. You have got to see for your own eyes.

*It all starts at 5:29!

This ep once again throws confirmation of Bai Xue’s awareness to Liu Chuan’s feelings towards Jia En. She sees the way his eyes searches for Jia En and his tentativeness towards her and she can only stand on the sideline and watch as his heart searches for Jia En. It hurts her knowing that the one Liu Chuan likes is not her but she she is not going to meddle with this relationship and her friendship with Jia En and Liu Chuan because she knows that love is something that cannot be forced. This ep also threw in Ren Wei’s impending feelings towards Jia En. I say impending because there has never been confirmation towards it from Ren Wei himself but it is obvious to us as viewers that he sees Jia En more than just a friend. The way that his face sadden when he saw the hug between Liu Chuan and Jia En just made me want to comfort him with a hug! Ren Wei and Bai Xue are on the same boat regarding their feelings, they see it but can’t do anything about it. Interestingly, the relationship between Bai Xue and Ren Wei has dropped to merely friends now. This is not to say that Ren Wei is not interested in her any more but rather, his impending feelings for Jia En has definitely created some complications towards what he has for Bai Xue. I love that even with these different feelings in play, Bai Xue and Ren Wei continue to retain a supportive friendship with each other. There might be the occasional awkward glances and uneasiness but that is only but that doesn’t alter the friendship that they have. I don’t want to see them like this but they need to go through this phase in order to be able to grow and see where their feelings lie.

I am so glad that Xiao Wei and Ri Qi are back to themselves with each other. It is so good to see them like this after that avoiding each other phase that they had with each other. What’s better is that they didn’t even require an explanation over the 3631 misunderstanding for them to be back their chirpy selves with each other. It was so well done that I even forgot that they had a misunderstanding between them! I am happy that Jia En and Liu Chuan’s relationship didn’t hinder theirs but actually helped them to understand each other more. It’s so nice how their relationship just naturally comes to be even with the misunderstandings that they have.

There has been so much strength with Xiao Wei lately. She most only stand up for herself in joining the protest, but she was even brave enough to show her determination in this fight for justice in from of Professor Chang Fei. I am so proud of her for being able to do so, so so so proud of her. She stepped out of her shell and shows no signs of wanting to retreat back. Xiao Wei has always been the shy one of the group, opting to hide than to stand up and allow trouble to ensure. With her friends fighting for justice on her behalf, she came realise that she needs to stand for herself if she wants to become a stronger person. She has so much friends supporting her and even Tracy who was initially against the idea changed her mind.

The friendships are definitely coming out stronger in this fight for justice. This fight for justice strengthens their relationship and brings the best in them. The friendship between the group is just very sweet and innocent. Everyone in the group has a different persona but together they bring the best in each other and that is what true friends should do. They don’t have to conceal themselves. They can be who they are knowing that they have each other’s backs and this is something that is very prevalent between these friends. I love them so much! I wish I was part of their friendship group!

In A Good Way is dishing out perfect creations with every ep and I appreciate and treasure everything that comes across my screen. So much is conveyed through only an hour or so of screen time and it is its ability to do this week after week, ep after ep, scene after scene consistently is what has made it such a beautiful gem. I look forward to seeing more and I don’t even have to wonder where the drama will head because I know that this week will be yet another perfect ep.

Thanks for posting your review. I gotta say, you keep on saying best episode every after review…but I can’t blame you. What can we do if this show keeps on topping their previous ones 🙂 One more reason to love Fri!
I just can’t stop gushing on the whole concert scene – LC pulling JE closer, searching her once ‘their song’ played, the HUG, JE tentatively hugging back and LC closing his eyes savoring the moment. I could play those scenes over and over again…haha.
I also love the show because of the others. I love how XW gain courage & stood up for herself w/ RQ beside her. Tracy is awesome too! Despite having different view on the matter before, she supported her friends at the end.

LOL, I know! I say it so often nowadays that it doesn’t hold any more meaning in my posts any more! But this was one truly amazing ep! I loved every minute of it!

Yeppppp, words cannot describe the beauty of that hug! It was so perfect!

The other characters are also beautiful to watch adding on to the uni life and experience. (:

This was an absolutely fantastic episode. What I appreciate about it is that it is not allowing fame or fan excitment to change the steady pacing. Some people have said to me that they think the show is slow; what I like about it is that even with the humor (the men of steel steel anyone?) is not zany or crazy but just the kind of thing that would really happen. And neither character in our OTP are people who rush, despite their new reputation for being radical. Ironically, they are two least radical people of the group; they are rather old-fashioned–believing honestly in fighting to the end for what you believe even if it isn’t popular or dangerous, believing in loyalty until the end, etc.–which is why they make such a good couple and why their hug means as much to them as first kisses or complete mak out scenes do to other OTP.
I have talked in other places about “being Chuanned,” using LC’s name as a verb for the ffect one of his looks gives. I feel my heart go into palpatations every time he looks at Jia En. People talk about those eye sparks all the time. I finished the episode at work and almost bit a hole in my tongue to keep myself from screaming at the end. I was completely chuanned, and so was Jia En. She had to hug him back. Would you? Wouldn’t anyone? It was a bitter sweet moment though to see both BX and RW witness the hug and see the looks on their faces.

Yepppp! (: That is something that is really appreciative. The drama is flowing at a really steady and natural pace, at one that reflects the realism of life. Slow? I don’t feel that at all. One of my most favourite aspects is that the different couples are not being pushed around to develop a relationship. Instead, they just let things flow and let their relationship come to be.

Yepp, I really agree! This is why the hug is so meaningful and fitting to the OTP. That hug was peeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrffffffffffffffffffffffffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeccccccccccccccccctttttttttttttttt!

Ahahaha, I like your new word! The way his eyes searches for Jia En and the way that he stares at her says so much!

Poor Bai Xue and Ren Wei! They better a happy ending or else I will be so pissed!

I’m the minority in not really liking the execution of the concert itself but I like the other scenes, especially the hug scene at the end. I feel like they’re holding a concert for the sake of holding the concert to invite these big stars…

Anyways, I can ignore the absurdity in the way how the concert planned out because of my love towards this show. I think the previous episode was a better one in terms of how they execute the protest. Frankly, this is my least favorite episode because of the concert execution but IAGW still own me.

Oh, really? I loved it! The hug scene was just perfection! I loved it so much! It was amazing, especially the lead-up to it. It was just the way Jia En blushed, the way he searched for her and the way they embraced. Ahahaha, yeahh, part of the concert probably was used to promote the cameos.

I loveeeee this show so much! It has literally become a part of me. I look forward to every Friday.

I thought I was the only one who thought there was too much of the concert. I’m not familiar with the artists or what they represent so it was a bit boring watching all the songs. I thought the concert earlier in the show was more integrated into the plot.
