My Opinion on In A Good Way Episode 16

I don’t know what it is, but In A Good Way in one insanely addicting drama. It continues to feed my addiction by offering a story with lots of sincerity and sugary sweetness. It makes me happy every time, like a rush of endorphins pouring into my body. I have lots of love for it and I just cannot get enough of what it has to offer. Jia En and Liu Chuan are stealing the show with their sizzlingly, hot, hot flirting and eye-staring even though this ep was Ren Wei centric. It might have been Ren Wei centric, but my eyes were drawn to our lovey-dovey OTP. It’s all very low-key between them but it was in so many ways very high-key. They don’t try to hide their relationship and their isn’t any secretiveness to it. There is none of that letting-go-of-hands-in-front-of-parents things going on, instead, Jia En and Liu Chuan are just progressively taking the next steps in their lives with the people who matter to them most supporting them on the way. They have only just started dating and bases are already coming in play. More than that though, there were some near-kiss scenes which were oh so close to happening but didn’t favour them. As much as I am ready to see them pump things up and kiss the heck out of each other, I think it will be better if they wait it out, because it will be more precious that way. Though, they shared a heap of sexy, sizzling hugs so I will be content with that. That back hug from Liu Chuan was just so swoon-worthy! Oh Jia En, you are so lucky to have that man’s arms around you!

Love, love, love the lovey-doviness between the love birds. You can never get tired of them thrust their eyes at each other. I love what the drama is doing with them, letting them fall in love without any angst in between. It is just all very natural and smooth. Jia En is a young girl swooningly in love while Liu Chuan has found the one with Jia En. They are happily dating in their own world without interference from outsiders, and this is something that I really appreciate. I love that their relationship is just as pure as it can get, making every bit of their dates feel real. They just need to continue doing their things and be lovey-dovey with each other. Go shoot your lasers to each other!

I appreciate this Ren Wei centric ep because it is vital for him to unleash his feelings if he is going move on. There is not batting around with his feelings any more. He admits that he likes Jia En but is taking a reservative route tackling this feeling. There is too much at risk if he puts himself as the intruder to Jia En and Liu Chuan’s relationship. This includes his lifelong friendship with Jia En and that is something too valuable for him to lose, something that he has invested to much in to just throw it away. Ren Wei is very careful with how he treats this. He wants to show his feelings but he doesn’t want to do anything that will make Jia En feel like he is trying to tamper what she has built up with Liu Chuan. So instead, he chooses to graciously wait it out even though he knows that he barely made it past the starting line while Liu Chuan is miles ahead of him. Ren Wei had so many moments before for him to show Jia En’s worth to him but instead he neglected her and lost those valuable opportunities which he can now never get back. Those are moments that are once gone will be gone forever.

Surprisingly, I am actually quite enjoying the process of watching Ren Wei realise that he is falling for Jia En. I like that it brings out a different side to him, a side that he has always kept hidden inside of him, until now. He is actually quite a different person from the Ren Wei who we first met. The Ren Wei is always impulsive with his decisions and acts before he things is actually doing the opposite with the way he is handling his situation with Jia En. He is thinking thoroughly through every move he makes and although he wants to take more steps forward, he knows that the most her can do now is wait, wait until it is the right moment, wait until he can be sure this is the direction he wants to head. And the way this different side comes about just makes me irresistibly love him more and more. And I love this because I don’t love him because I feel sorrow for him being the second lead who does not get the girl but because of his development as a three-dimensional character. We get to see the way that he falls in love as much as we get to experience his heartache in watching the one whom her loves runs out of reach. But he isn’t going to give up so easily. I love this about him; I love that even as a second lead he stands on level playing field with Liu Chuan. This drama is crafted so beautifully with each and everyone of the characters standing as equals, on even ground. Not many dramas can do this let alone do this to such a high standard. IAGW is that rare gem that is shining bright from every direction that you look at it in.

Bai Xue just keeps growing more and more awesome as a person and a friend and I am just so happy for her in the direction that she is heading. She understands what is not meant for her will never be hers regardless of how hard so tries to chase after it. She has long moved on from her crush on Liu Chuan and just happy that two of her best friends have found their happiness. She fully supports them in their relationship and is genuinely happy for them. Bai Xue is a strong girl and despite things not working in favour for her, she has picked herself up and pushed herself to continue going strong. She is a smart girl and knows that moping over something that is not meant for her will not do her any good. I hope that she will help Ren Wei to see this because I don’t want to see Ren Wei being stuck in a hole for his pursuit for happiness. I don’t really mind if they end up together or not as long as they are happy with the place that they are in.

Bai Xue and Ren Wei have a really sweet friendship and right now it is only friendship at most. When Bai Xue was down in her midst about Liu Chuan, Ren Wei was there by her side helping her to see through it and now Ren Wei is going through the same thing. I wouldn’t go as far to say that they are two people who balances each other out the way that Jia En and Liu Chuan are but the more that they confide to one another, the more that they are bringing the best from one other. I’m excited to see how their relationship will develop regardless of whether they end up as a couple or not but more than that, I want to see more of their friendship!

More goodness is coming on the way with Liu Chuan and Jia En’s special trip to Jiufen with some intruders to intervene. Hehe, see, now we are getting closer to locking Liu Chuan and Jia En together in a room! Gahhhh, exciting, exciting!
