Right now it is waaaaaaayy past my bedtime and my eyes are begging me to close them but I just wanted to let you guys know of this hot off the press news before I head off to bed. I don’t usually write these posts but I am super duper excited, so much so that I need to get this out before I go to sleep. This really is literally hot off the press news for me. I just read from Baidu of the confirmed leads for the k-remake of Taiwan’s hit drama Fated to Love You, which will also be called Fated to Love You. Oh, I am so excited!
I am super duper excited for this remake because I absolutely adored FTLY and Ethan Ruan and Chen Qiao En had so much chemistry between them. Ethan played Ji Cun Xi, rich chaebol to a cleaning company who is the ninth generation only child to the Ji family. He had this romantic and beautiful cruise ship proposal all planned out for his ballerina girlfriend, Shi An Na, played by Bianca Bai but she broke off the date before she could board the ship so she could audition for a prestigious ballet dance. So Cun Xi ends up boarding the ship alone and due to some tampering of his drink, he ends up having a one-night-stand with office girl,Chen Xi Yi played by Qiao En, who does anything that people ask of her. Their one-night-stand results in a child with their genes being created which leads to a shotgun marriage. And that begins their fated journey. I really enjoyed the drama and thought that the writing was really creative. I would love to see a good rom-com from Korea!
I loved every aspect of FTLY and it just nailed my heart in so many ways. FTLY is addicting, humorous where it need be, captivating, airy and filled with so so so so so much endorphins. FTLY is one of my all time favourite dramas so to have it being remade is something very exciting for me as a lover of the TW version. I’ve seen it a million times and I love it more each time. The leads for this drama are Jang Kyuk and Jang Nara and this will be their reunion 12 years after their successful pairing in Successful Story of a Bright Girl. I have never seen SSOABG but I have heard so many good things about the OTP. I am looking forward to their pairing here and hoping that they, like Ethan and Qian En did, will be shooting off lots of chemistry. I am so so so so so so so so so so so so so so excited for this! I cannot contain my excitement for it. It will air on MBC starting 2nd July on a Wed-Thurs timeslot. I can’t wait! Hopefully time will permit me to watch it. Excitement, excitement, excitement! Hehehehe, I’m not so sleepy any more!
