Show Luo’s Back in the Acting Realm with Shen Zhen

Shen ZhenShow Luo is a pretty famous icon in the Taiwanese entertainment industries and arguably one of the most successful entertainers of Taiwan this past century. Not only can he sing and dance but has also made a name in hosting and acting. I really enjoy Show as a singer and he has slowly improved with his acting. It’s been quite a while since his last acting gig with his prolific pairing with Rainie Yang in Hi, My Sweetheart. That drama earned won Rainie the Best Leading Actress in a Television Series at the annual Golden Bell Award and while it did not garner Show any awards, it did provide a great platform for him to up his acting skills. Having seen some of his micro-films and recent MVs, I can definitely see that his emotional acting and acting in general have improved lots.

In Hi, My Sweetheart, Show played the dorky and goofy Xue Hai “Lin Da Liang” but this time with his return to dramaland in the current drama Shen Zhen (which is based off the novel Gu Niang, Wo Me Yi Qi He Zu Ba 姑娘,我们一起合租吧), Show plays a man whose only success was having his girlfriend snatched away by a rich and handsome guy on the same day that he lost his job. With the help and encouragement of his best friend, he decides to start anew and that includes him moving places and landing himself the eyes of three ladies who all change his life drastically. It’s your typical rom-com drama but except it has a reversal of genders. Mao Jun JieGui Gui and Zheng Luo Qian play the three ladies in Show’s life as much as he plays a role in the lives of his three ladies.

For the drama, Show sings both the theme song “Deal With Your Love (从爱发落)” and the ending theme song “Goodbye Stranger (再见陌生人)”. Check out the two MVs below which also gives a sneak peek of the drama. (:

I thought the first MVP looked like it was for a drama OST when I saw it a few weeks ago. He does get better with each acting job, yep yep.

Did you see the trailer for this… it’s so…weird. 1/2 crazy comedy and 1/2 melo. I just wished it was a straight rom-com.

Ahaha, yeahh, I’m not sure! I wonder how the book was because this drama is based on the book.
