This is another joint review this time on episodes 14 ,15&16 because I have once again caught myself busy in the midst of real life and then I got really lazy in writing this post. I did manage to squeeze in some time to finish it and while the drama had a poor start, it managed to finish on a better note which is a very nice way to draw a conclusion to the story that was quite a struggle for me to even get through the middle few eps of the drama. As a sequel, I loved how flowed on from the first season visually. Whether it be the casting, the setting to even the colour tones used, it was just like that of the first season and that is something that really constitutes it as a sequel. I really enjoyed how it seemed to flow so seamlessly from the first season through to this season. Read more
Niceeee, now that’s more like it! These two eps are arguably my favourites thus far. It’s touching all the right aspects and really giving the drama the softness it was lacking. I was a bit busy last week with getting back into the rhythm of studying after a long holiday which is why I am putting the reviews for these two eps together as one. I had such a nice, warm feeling watching these two eps. It was so cute watching Kotoko and Naoki as a pair of lovers. It always urks me to call them a pair of lovers as they never really were but now I can feel happy to call them so. They need to continue with this because this is something they should have been exemplifying right from the start. The drama is based solely on their romantic relationship but has been quite hard to watch the last couple of eps. However, they are finally hitting it right and I quite enjoy watching Kotoko and Naoki together even though they are still missing some chemistry. Read more
I’m mashing my review for eps 8 & 9 of together since I got lazy and it’s just getting harder and harder to push out a review per ep when the eps itself are getting shorter in length leaving me with not much of an opinion to express as not much happens. I pretty much find myself repeating the same thing over and over again because there is only so much that I can express when the drama is pretty much limited in terms of direction and character development. There’s also the fact that these eps aren’t the full eps and not even close to being full eps so there are certain scenes that we don’t get to see which disrupts the ebb of flow for the drama. Kotoko and Naoki are heading it one step at a time, overcoming their obstacles as they come. They’re like any normal couple with disagreements and clashing ideas to face and like any other couple, these come as a challenge for their relationship. It weakened their relationship at first but then it strengthened their relationship, giving a strength that is so much stronger than what it previously was. The OTP have realised what they both mean to one another and are taking the necessary actions to show this because it is important for the other person to have an understanding of how one feels as it takes two to make a love story. Kotoko and Naoki’s have barely gotten the fire started in their relationship but now it’s finally igniting. Read more

Soooo, prior to my exam, I had heard news of Itazura na Kiss 2 ~ Love in TOKYO coming out this Spring but I was a little upset since it was going to air during my exam period! I loved the first season and was so ready to live-watch this season! I was ready to watch it right under exams and to my surprise, it was only the special Itazura na Kiss 2 ~ Love in OKINAWA that aired during my exam period and that the drama itself will start airing the 24th of November, so that means I will be able to live-watch it (yay!). After what has been months and months of waiting for some people, Itazura na Kiss 2 ~ Love in Tokyo (AKA Mischievous Kiss 2), is finally here! The Mischievous Kiss franchise has been a huge success with not only the manga making a huge amount of sales but also the live-actions adaptations achieving huge success locally and abroad. Probably, on the mention of Mischievous Kiss, the couple comes to mind would be the undeniable chemistry between Joe Cheng and Ariel Lin in the Taiwanese adaptations back in 2005 and 2007. After the successes of both instalments, Korea dived into the franchise too giving it their own take. Last year, Japan decided to give this live-action a second shot after previously having created their own live-action adaptation back in 1996 with Itazura na Kiss ~ Love in Tokyo and that came off as a huge success with fans all over the world, me included, waiting impatiently for this second instalment. I watched INKLIT quite recently so it is still fresh off my mind and I enjoyed it quite a lot. It was all so-cute and just full of bouncy and cute moments and I am just lingering to see more of the relationship between the OTP. This sequel follows off from the prequel, following the married life of the OTP and their hurdles to better discover themselves and their love for one another. It’s typical rom-com territory but somehow on-screens, Mischievous Kiss just manages to bring on a special warm and fuzzy touch.
I’m slowly venturing out towards j-doramas and Shitsuren Chocolatier is one that has caught my eyes. My first j-doramas and probably one of my all-time favourite j-doramas is Rich Man, Poor Woman. Interestingly, the leading lady here, Ishihara Satomi was also the leading lady in RMPW. She had great chemistry with Oguri Shun in RMPW, but I am sure she will have some great chemistry with her leading man here, Matsumoto Jun since they shared some really good chemistry in the Lucky Seven SP. From what I have seen, both are great actors and with some great chemistry together. Together with a solid storyline, I am expecting this drama to be warm to my heart. Due to my limited exposure to the j-dorama world, I have no idea who the second leads Mizukawa Asami, Mizuhara Kiko or Mizobata Junpei but hopefully I will be able to fall for them!
Shitsuren Chocolatier is actually a manga adaptation of the same name but I tend to have this thing against manga adaptations because they either turn out to be a good adaptation or a bad adaptation, it is usually the latter than it is the former. However, considering I am basing my opinions on Taiwanese drama manga adaptations, I am not one to judge. Hopefully Japanese dramas are able to do a much better job at drama adaptations or else I will be losing faith in watching these types of dramas. Read more
