Love @ Seventeen Drops Nostalgic Teasers

Love @ SeventeenLego Lee either really loves to work or really loves to work because with barely enough time to rest, he is back on the small screen with a new drama. I’ve checked on him every now and then since the conclusion of my all-time fave TW drama In A Good Way but none of his follow-up dramas really appealed to me. But this might all change with Love @ Seventeen, a drama that shares the similar nostalgia theme as IAGW. Except, this time the timeline progresses from the high school era right through to the current era. This drama also works the theme of missed love and I think it will work really well with this nostalgia theme that the has going on.  Read more

My Opinion on Refresh Man: First Impressions

Refresh Man

To refresh means to reinvigorate but I’m not so sure that this isn’t the case for Refresh Man. It has more aspects of being a copy than it is being a refresher, appearing oh-so identical to a previous drama that I have seen from SETTV. To be fair though, most SETTV dramas follow the same plot and structure so it’s not like it’s something that I haven’t encountered before. It’s just that this drama is oddly familiar to one that I have seen before, so much so that I’m not receiving any vibes that what I’m watching is a new drama. Read more

My Opinion on Descendants of the Sun: First Impressions

Descendants of the SunI don’t think I have loved a K-drama as I did from the get-go as much as I did for Descendants of the Sun for a long time, and that’s a good thing of course, meaning this drama is heading off in the right direction. I am just so surprised with how quickly I fell for this drama. This drama is just amazing and already is filled with so much punch in these first three eps. This drama is not without its flaws though, but it starts off so spectacularly well that whatever flaws it has, it all seems very minuscule. I am just loving this drama very much and can’t wait to see what it has in stores for us, but regardless of whatever it has, it will hopefully be something that brings the drama to greater heights. First Look at Refresh Man Starring Aaron Yan and Joanne Tseng

Refresh ManToday premieres the new Sunday-night SETTV idol drama Refresh Man filling in the shoes of Bromance. Refresh Man stars Aaron Yan who is making his return back to dramaland and Joanne Tseng who is ready for another drama adventure after her successful venture in Marry Me, or Not? Rounding up the main cast is Lene Lai and Jack Lee. Refresh Man is a workplace drama, exactly right up my alley, and is a mix of all the elements that previous SETTV workplace dramas are so fond of using.  Read more

My Opinion on Marry Me, or Not?

Marry Me Or NotI actually had a review written up for Marry Me, or Not? but when I went back to continue with it, I realised that I had accidentally deleted the file. Whoops! Silly me! But it’s all good, there’s no point in stressing over something that cannot be recovered so here I am re-writing my thoughts for this drama. This is one of the best idol dramas that I have seen in a while. It’s a good thing that this drama was amazing to watch because otherwise I’m not sure how I would have been able to rewrite another review. This drama was very enjoyable to watch and was a visual treat to the eyes in terms of all the sparks that flew about on-screen. There was just something about it that tugged on my heartstrings and it was that tugging of the heartstrings that made me love it so much. Read more

2015 End of Year Drama Review

Collage 2015Wow, what a year 2015 has been! I can’t believe that another has just flew by with a blink of an eye. 2015 was a very important year for me, taking some of the biggest steps in my life and embarking on wonderful adventures. I have learnt so much in 2015 about myself and beyond that I would never have thought would have been possible. 2015 was full of challenges and while challenges they were, they were challenges that has helped to shape me into the person that I am today. I found myself quite busy in 2015 with various commitments consuming most of my time leaving me not much time to spare for dramaing. Surprisingly, I watched a similar amount of dramas as I did in 2014 butI found myself being a lot more picky with what I chose to watch. I started the year quite slow with drama-watching as there was not much dramas that called for my attention to watch them. Then the year-end came around and there were a number of dramas that all wanted my attention at the same time. It has been especially hard for me to catch up on my current dramas as I am currently in Shanghai where the internet hasn’t been so great and that added on with my current commitment has made drama-watching less of a priority. Nonetheless, it has been a very eventful drama year and I am quite happy with my drama choices. This end-of-year drama review is late but it’s finally here! Better late than never, right? Read more

My Opinion on To The Dearest Intruder

To The Dearest IntruderHey guys! Sorry for the hiatus but I’m back and it’s 2016!

There are various forms of love around, some nice and fluffy and others full of heartbreaks and tears. To The Dearest Intruder is a romance drama that falls into the latter category and on my first read of the synopsis, The Fierce Wife immediately popped into my head. The two dramas indeed share a very similar storyline but yet there’s enough differences in TTDI to make it a different drama to TFW. TTDI tugs at your heartstrings, not the cutesy-swoony ones but the ones that make your heart break. This was a very interesting drama to watch; I marathoned half of it during my flight but found it quite a drag to watch, however, the second half picked up a lot of pace and that’s where a lot of the hearty bits of the drama lies, but then the drama took us on some crazy, insane pathway that made watching it just as insane if not more. What this drama delivered was a story that touched hearts and was a very nice, mature depiction of an imperfect love and friendship story that went a bit more than haywire. Read more

My Opinion on She Was Pretty

17All the good dramas seem to be popping up all at once because out of all the dramas I’ve seen this year, the ones I really like are the ones from this past two month, and I’ve got another one to add onto my list. I’ve been hearing good reviews about She Was Pretty and caved in, marathoning through 15 eps in one day, and despite my current commitments, I have no regrets because it is just as good as everyone says it is. It’s a drama that has not only has both substance and fluff, but has them in perfect proportions. SWP is everything that I want from a drama and so much more and that is what makes it so great. G.E.M Tang Releases Breath-Taking Visual Album HEARTBEAT

1The very talented and China’s Taylor SwiftG.E.M Tang, just yesterday dropped her hotly anticipated fifth studio album HEARTBEAT right in the middle of her X.X.X. Live Tour. Despite how busy she is, she managed to create a visual album with each song on the album having their own MV to convey their deepest meaning. Not only that but she also personally penned the 10 songs on the album. I’ve gone through her entire album and again, and boy, does it make my heart beat.  Read more

Kingone Wang Back with Daily Love or Spend

2Some stars just never seem to give themselves a break and Kingone Wang is one of them with back-to-back dramas. No sooner does one drama end, but before I hear news about that drama ending, I am hearing news of his comeback drama. In 2013 he starred in the drama Happy 300 Days and followed that on with Spring and Tie the Knot. Without giving himself a break, this year he starred in the melo Somebody Like You, the heart-wrenching The Day I Lost U and now back with a new daily, Love or Spend. Kingone has got an impressive resume under his belt, having played an array of characters. Just this year alone, he has played two of his most challenging characters to date – a blind man in SLY and a spinocerebellar ataxia sufferer. Read more
