2016 End of Year Drama Review

2016 was a great year and I loved every moment of it! But I can’t believe that it flew by just like that! 2016 was a big year for me! I have learnt so much and met so many amazing people! 2016 was full of challenges, just like 2015, but going through these challenges has helped me to become a better person. I was quite busy this year and I found that as you grow older, you become more and more busy in life. I still, however, managed to fit in some drama-watching in my life, ehehe. The year start off quite slow with not much dramas attracting my attention. The middle half of the year was when my attention start to pique up but it wasn’t until the end of the year that I found numerous dramas calling for me. There were some amazing dramas but at the same time there were some not-so-amazing dramas but overall, I am quite happy with what I watched. This end-of-year drama review is late, but I finally finished it!  Read more

My Opinion on Love O2O

17Gu Man is back with another novel-to-drama adaptation Love O2O and I absolutely adored it! This drama was just all sorts of cuteness to watch and made me beam ear to ear with every ep that I watched. Love O2O is a sweet, uni-romance story that blossomed from a love-at-first-sight meeting and centres on uni and post-uni life around the theme of online gaming, which was what actually brought our OTP together. I particularly enjoyed the drama because of the pure, sweet and innocent romantic vibes that captured the entire romantic story and was the backbone to the drama. Read more

My Opinion on Les Intèrpretes

19It’s been a long time since my last post but I am back and ready to watch some drams! Right after my exams, under recommendation, I decided to watch the highly popular drama Les Intèrpretes. It’s a drama that is based in the world of translation between the Chinese and French language, with the scenes set in China and Switzerland. The drama has a very nice, bubbly vibe to it and quite refreshing to watch, especially with this integration of inter-culture and the bridging together of two languages. As the title says, the drama is very much about interpreting and takes this on various levels. Read more

2015 End of Year Drama Review

Collage 2015Wow, what a year 2015 has been! I can’t believe that another has just flew by with a blink of an eye. 2015 was a very important year for me, taking some of the biggest steps in my life and embarking on wonderful adventures. I have learnt so much in 2015 about myself and beyond that I would never have thought would have been possible. 2015 was full of challenges and while challenges they were, they were challenges that has helped to shape me into the person that I am today. I found myself quite busy in 2015 with various commitments consuming most of my time leaving me not much time to spare for dramaing. Surprisingly, I watched a similar amount of dramas as I did in 2014 butI found myself being a lot more picky with what I chose to watch. I started the year quite slow with drama-watching as there was not much dramas that called for my attention to watch them. Then the year-end came around and there were a number of dramas that all wanted my attention at the same time. It has been especially hard for me to catch up on my current dramas as I am currently in Shanghai where the internet hasn’t been so great and that added on with my current commitment has made drama-watching less of a priority. Nonetheless, it has been a very eventful drama year and I am quite happy with my drama choices. This end-of-year drama review is late but it’s finally here! Better late than never, right? Read more

My Opinion on The Lost Tomb: First Impressions

The Lost TombIf you are looking for an action-packed drama then The Lost Tomb would be the one for you. It is action-packed right from the beginning, in fact the action starts from the very first second! The Lost Tomb is described as a cross between Harry Potter and Game of Thrones featuring elements of the supernatural, action and adventure. TLT is a web-drama adapted from the insanely popular internet novel Grave Robbers’ Chronicles written by Kennedy Xu. It is said that this novel created a craze in China for novels focusing on grave-robbing that also deals with supernatural elements. The drama version will have eight instalments filmed over a period of eight years. Unlike the typical C-drama length, each instalment of TLC will only have around 12 eps, two of which were the prologue, which puts it up for greater action and more promising developments. Read more

Rain and Tiffany Tang Headline Diamond Lover

1Tiffany Tang took over Chinese television back in January and February with her three back-to-back dramas My SunshineLady and the Liar and Legend of Fragrance which were all ratings hit, cementing Tiffany’s status as one of China’s most sought-after television leading lady. You’d think that after those juggernaut hits of hers she would be off the radar for a while but she is back sooner than you can even get her to sit down. Her leading men have all been quite the superstar themselves but this time she is crossing the strait to Korea, or rather, her leading man is crossing the strait from Korea to China. Tiffany goes for her big names because her leading man is none other than Rain. This is the second time the two are working together with them having previously worked together with him in the movie For Love or Money. Rain has been based in China since My Lovely Girl, which was a stinker of a drama that dipped low in ratings and wasn’t well-received.  Read more

My Opinion on Lady & Liar

Lady & Liar (9)I had high hopes for Lady & Liar after seeing the trailer and wonderful stills that it released a while back and that really amped up my anticipation of the drama. It made me eager to watch it and I did. I am so glad that it did not disappoint and lived up to my expectations. It finished production in late 2013 with more than a year to perfect it and while it is not a perfect drama it does stand out to be one very well-fleshed out drama whether that be in the acting, cinematography or the writing. It’s dramatic for sure and something that I well-expected and while this might not be everyone’s cup of tea, it was mines. It’s one of those types of tea which you initially don’t like very much but after a few cups you come to taste the sweetness of it. Read more

Tiffany Tang’s Other Other Drama Co-Starring Li Yi Feng Legend of Fragrance Airs Tomorrow Competing Against Her Other Drama Lady & Liar

Legend of FragranceI can assure you that you will not be short of Tiffany Tang this month with hit drama after hit drama airing one after the other. Her drama My Sunshine only just finished airing last week and it was a hit both online and offline, generating a mountain of discussion. I haven’t even gotten over My Sunshine yet but immediately after My Sunshine concluded, her other drama, Lady & Liar, which has been highly anticipated for well over one and a half years, starring her best friend Yang Mi‘s hubby Hawick Lau took over the position of My Sunshine and is my current drama jam. It is reaping in the ratings, though remains unbeaten by The Empress of China. Tomorrow though, another one of Tiffany’s drama, Legend of Fragrance starring hottie Li Yi Feng, jumps in the competition which is literally Tiffany competing against herself for the ratings since it will be replacing TEOC. LOL. Read more

My Opinion on My Sunshine

My Sunshine (1)I think that I made a great choice in choosing My Sunshine (AKA Silent Separation) as the drama to start off 2015 with. It was all sorts of wonderfulness to watch and was even better live-watched as it kept my emotions running high in between the hours waiting for the next ep. This drama is addicting and now that it has finished its run, I am having withdrawal symptoms. My Sunshine is adapted from Gu Man (顾漫)‘s popular internet novel Silent Separation (何以笙箫默) with the popularity of the novel crossing over on-screen. I haven’t read the book but according those who have read the book, My Sunshine is just like the book stepping out of its pages with people describing it as a near-perfect adaptation. Of course, no adaptation or drama for that matter is perfect. All dramas have their flaws but what My Sunshine does is discreetly hide them while emphasising on the goodness at hand which is what makes this drama so addicting to watch. Read more

Trailer and Stills for Tiffany Tang’s Upcoming Drama Lady & Liar Which is Scheduled to Air After Her Currently Airing Drama My Sunshine

Lady&Liar2015 is starting off as a busy year for Tiffany Tang with dramas after dramas lined up for her whether in filming or in airing. And this year will only get busier for her. Her currently airing and highly anticipated drama My Sunshine is receiving positive feedback from the general audience and her other highly anticipated drama Lady & Liar (apparently this is its official name now; previously it was called The Lady & The Liar which imo sounds better) set to air immediately right after My Sunshine is looked forward to by many people. She also has Legend of FragranceWomen on the Breadfruit Tree, Master of Destiny, Boys to Men and Diamond Lover waiting for release. Busy, busy year for her! Read more
