Love @ Seventeen Drops Nostalgic Teasers

Love @ SeventeenLego Lee either really loves to work or really loves to work because with barely enough time to rest, he is back on the small screen with a new drama. I’ve checked on him every now and then since the conclusion of my all-time fave TW drama In A Good Way but none of his follow-up dramas really appealed to me. But this might all change with Love @ Seventeen, a drama that shares the similar nostalgia theme as IAGW. Except, this time the timeline progresses from the high school era right through to the current era. This drama also works the theme of missed love and I think it will work really well with this nostalgia theme that the has going on.  Read more

Quirky Insights for Roy Qiu and Alice Ke’s New Drama Marry Me, or Not?

1I have been waiting for the premiere of Marry Me, or Not? since what feels like forever and now it is just a day away from our television screens. It will air on CTV, following the heart-wrenching drama fare The Day I Lost U which will be a nice change of tone from the offering of its predecessor. I am super duper excited for this drama and from what the teasers and previews have offered, this drama looks like it will be a beautiful, quirky offering, something that is right up my alley. I haven’t been captivated by any Taiwanese drama this year based on previews alone until this drama came along so it better be good because it has set my expectations high and I really want it to meet these expectations.  Read more

Rain and Tiffany Tang Headline Diamond Lover

1Tiffany Tang took over Chinese television back in January and February with her three back-to-back dramas My SunshineLady and the Liar and Legend of Fragrance which were all ratings hit, cementing Tiffany’s status as one of China’s most sought-after television leading lady. You’d think that after those juggernaut hits of hers she would be off the radar for a while but she is back sooner than you can even get her to sit down. Her leading men have all been quite the superstar themselves but this time she is crossing the strait to Korea, or rather, her leading man is crossing the strait from Korea to China. Tiffany goes for her big names because her leading man is none other than Rain. This is the second time the two are working together with them having previously worked together with him in the movie For Love or Money. Rain has been based in China since My Lovely Girl, which was a stinker of a drama that dipped low in ratings and wasn’t well-received.  Read more

Murphy’s Law Takes Over Next Week

2The drama that was Aim High even though it did not aim very high recently concluded and that means SETTV is ready for a new Friday-night drama is ready to take over that slot. That drama is Murphy (莫非,這就是愛情; Chinese translation: Could this be love?) starring Danson Tang and Ivelyn Lee. The official title is something quite expected. It is lackluster on paper but that one word “Murphy” actually holds a heavy definition to it. SETTV is known for giving dramas recycled, cheeky titles but this time around, I actually prefer the literal title which sounds even better in Chinese. I haven’t seen Danson in ages since Hana Kimi which is a very long time ago and I have never seen Ivelyn around but they do make quite a refreshing couple. Starring alongside them is Jolin Chien who will cause a stir in Danson and Ivelyn’s relationship. This drama doesn’t seem to excite me all that much but hopefully it will lift things up from Aim High.  Read more

Tiffany Tang’s Other Other Drama Co-Starring Li Yi Feng Legend of Fragrance Airs Tomorrow Competing Against Her Other Drama Lady & Liar

Legend of FragranceI can assure you that you will not be short of Tiffany Tang this month with hit drama after hit drama airing one after the other. Her drama My Sunshine only just finished airing last week and it was a hit both online and offline, generating a mountain of discussion. I haven’t even gotten over My Sunshine yet but immediately after My Sunshine concluded, her other drama, Lady & Liar, which has been highly anticipated for well over one and a half years, starring her best friend Yang Mi‘s hubby Hawick Lau took over the position of My Sunshine and is my current drama jam. It is reaping in the ratings, though remains unbeaten by The Empress of China. Tomorrow though, another one of Tiffany’s drama, Legend of Fragrance starring hottie Li Yi Feng, jumps in the competition which is literally Tiffany competing against herself for the ratings since it will be replacing TEOC. LOL. Read more

Lady&Liar2015 is starting off as a busy year for Tiffany Tang with dramas after dramas lined up for her whether in filming or in airing. And this year will only get busier for her. Her currently airing and highly anticipated drama My Sunshine is receiving positive feedback from the general audience and her other highly anticipated drama Lady & Liar (apparently this is its official name now; previously it was called The Lady & The Liar which imo sounds better) set to air immediately right after My Sunshine is looked forward to by many people. She also has Legend of FragranceWomen on the Breadfruit Tree, Master of Destiny, Boys to Men and Diamond Lover waiting for release. Busy, busy year for her! Read more

Someone Like You Drops Long Trailer at Press Conference

Someone Like YouSomeone Like You released its 16 minute long trailer earlier yesterday at its press conference ahead of tomorrow’s premiere. While I am still a bit iffy with the plot, I quite like what I am seeing from the trailer! It’s a nice mix of cool tones with warm tones so that’s a positive sign. The cinematography is really nice just as the stills showed and the arrangement and drawing out of certain scenes are also really nice. The team behind SLY are putting in a lot of production effort to bring this drama piece to life and so far it is translating on screen. Read more

My Sunshine Releases Long Preview Ahead of Premiere

MSGu Man‘s popular internet novel Silent Separation (何以笙箫默) is finally arriving on-screens as My Sunshine after the successful novel-to-drama adapation of Come Eat, Shan Shan (杉杉來吃) into Boss & Me. My Sunshine premieres in just a few days on the 10th of January and I am hoping that it will capture the novel as nicely as Boss & Me did. My Sunshine is not as fluffy as Boss & Me but there is still lots of fluff about it but that comes with some angst to give the story a kick. My Sunshine released its 15 minute long preview earlier this week and I am quite liking what I am seeing except for maybe a few bits here and there with the leads Wallace Chung and Tiffany Tang having all the necessary chemistry. It’s not sizzling hot but it is there and will hopefully heat up as the drama progresses. Read more

My Sunshine Releases Cute Promo Materials Offering a Boss & Me Vibe

My SunshineLooks like I will be heading over to China for my dramas in 2015! So far I have two Chinese dramas that I really really really want to watch and they both so happen to star Tiffany Tang. Her first drama for 2015 will be My Sunshine (title recently changed from You Are My Sunshine) which is adapted from the popular online novel Silent Separation (何以笙簫默) by Gu Man whose other novel Come and Eat, Shan Shan (杉杉来吃) also got adapted into the successful drama Boss & Me. I’ve been saying that I would go and read Come and Eat, Shan Shan but I have been too busy for it. With all these dramas that I want to see in 2015, I really don’t have the time just yet. I guess I’ll stick with dramaing for now. 😛 Tiffany will be playing a romantic couple with Wallace Chung here. Read more

Someone Like You Releases Gorgeous Promo Material

Someone Like YouIt seems like SETTV is really taking out the big guns to revive its Sunday-night dramas which have not been performing so well in recent times. The promos for the upcoming drama Someone Like You which will take over Say Again Yes I Do (AKA I Do2) on the 11th of January next year is just soooooo beautiful to look at! The stills are some of the best that I have seen in a long while. It’s soft to the eyes and the colours work perfectly well together. I can’t get enough of it which is just as well because more keeps coming out. And I say keep them coming because who can say no to pretty visuals? Read more
