My Opinion on Goblin

2016 went off with a bang with the arrival of Goblin which really sealed in the drama game for the year. It delivered something amazing and went above and beyond to blow my expectations away. It’s definitely not your everyday, average drama but a drama that just wows you in all aspects and piques interest with every ep. There was never one dull moment at all and, in fact, each ep generates further anticipation with the drama. Goblin is a drama that is driven sincerely by good scripting, which is prevalent throughout the entire drama, so a huge pat on the back Kim Eun Sook for writing such an amazing drama and bringing it to life following through with her other critically acclaimed hit, Descendants of the Sun, from the same year. Goblin, like Descendants of the Sun, is set in a fictional world but with a very different narrative structure. It was one that I had never seen before and surprisingly, it works, and it works amazingly well. Read more

2016 End of Year Drama Review

2016 was a great year and I loved every moment of it! But I can’t believe that it flew by just like that! 2016 was a big year for me! I have learnt so much and met so many amazing people! 2016 was full of challenges, just like 2015, but going through these challenges has helped me to become a better person. I was quite busy this year and I found that as you grow older, you become more and more busy in life. I still, however, managed to fit in some drama-watching in my life, ehehe. The year start off quite slow with not much dramas attracting my attention. The middle half of the year was when my attention start to pique up but it wasn’t until the end of the year that I found numerous dramas calling for me. There were some amazing dramas but at the same time there were some not-so-amazing dramas but overall, I am quite happy with what I watched. This end-of-year drama review is late, but I finally finished it!  Read more

My Opinion on Doctors

1Being in love stems from the heart as well as from the brain and no one would know better than doctors themselves who are in a constant battle with these two vital organs to one’s survival. Doctors is a drama that centres on the obvious occupation of doctors and the battle that they have every day to perform well in their jobs as well as their struggle to manage their own romance. Going into the drama, I thought it would have been a lot more tense with a lot more internal struggles but the drama turned out to be a lot lighter than what I expected in the sense that it focuses more on their profession and the romance than it does the internal affairs. This made watching it very easy and overall lifted the drama experience. Read more

My Opinion on Lucky Romance

Lucky RomanceLove is not something that you can force. If it’s there, it’s there; if it’s not then it’s not. Luck is not what brings together a couple; it is fate and if fate has it that two people are to be together, regardless of whether the luck that they experience may be good or bad, they will still be together. Lucky Romance tells the story of a woman who never considered romance as such to exist in her life as she believes she is cursed by bad luck. However, that all changed when she met her lucky star, changing her perception of luck from bad to good. The romance was one that was lucky indeed. Read more

My Opinion on Descendants of the Sun: First Impressions

Descendants of the SunI don’t think I have loved a K-drama as I did from the get-go as much as I did for Descendants of the Sun for a long time, and that’s a good thing of course, meaning this drama is heading off in the right direction. I am just so surprised with how quickly I fell for this drama. This drama is just amazing and already is filled with so much punch in these first three eps. This drama is not without its flaws though, but it starts off so spectacularly well that whatever flaws it has, it all seems very minuscule. I am just loving this drama very much and can’t wait to see what it has in stores for us, but regardless of whatever it has, it will hopefully be something that brings the drama to greater heights. 2015 End of Year Drama Review

Collage 2015Wow, what a year 2015 has been! I can’t believe that another has just flew by with a blink of an eye. 2015 was a very important year for me, taking some of the biggest steps in my life and embarking on wonderful adventures. I have learnt so much in 2015 about myself and beyond that I would never have thought would have been possible. 2015 was full of challenges and while challenges they were, they were challenges that has helped to shape me into the person that I am today. I found myself quite busy in 2015 with various commitments consuming most of my time leaving me not much time to spare for dramaing. Surprisingly, I watched a similar amount of dramas as I did in 2014 butI found myself being a lot more picky with what I chose to watch. I started the year quite slow with drama-watching as there was not much dramas that called for my attention to watch them. Then the year-end came around and there were a number of dramas that all wanted my attention at the same time. It has been especially hard for me to catch up on my current dramas as I am currently in Shanghai where the internet hasn’t been so great and that added on with my current commitment has made drama-watching less of a priority. Nonetheless, it has been a very eventful drama year and I am quite happy with my drama choices. This end-of-year drama review is late but it’s finally here! Better late than never, right? Read more

My Opinion on She Was Pretty

17All the good dramas seem to be popping up all at once because out of all the dramas I’ve seen this year, the ones I really like are the ones from this past two month, and I’ve got another one to add onto my list. I’ve been hearing good reviews about She Was Pretty and caved in, marathoning through 15 eps in one day, and despite my current commitments, I have no regrets because it is just as good as everyone says it is. It’s a drama that has not only has both substance and fluff, but has them in perfect proportions. SWP is everything that I want from a drama and so much more and that is what makes it so great. In Time With You vs. The Time We Were Not In Love

我可能不會愛你宣傳照

The Time We Were Not In Love

I was really looking forward to The Time We Were Not In Love as the remake of the hit Taiwanese drama In Time With You. I wholeheartedly adored ITWY and to date, it is one of my favourite dramas of all time. I had high expectations for TTWWNIL but I knew not to keep them up too high, but despite my low expectations of the drama, it still managed to really disappoint me, so much so that I just gave up watching it and had to push myself to finish it for the sake of finishing it. In fact, now that I look at it, TTWWNIL completely butchered ITWY. I did finish TTWWNIL in the end and it was nice to see a final closure to the couple who could have had their love story drawn summed up in two eps. The couple already knew themselves that their hearts belong to one another and this was the main reason why the drama was so draggy to watch. Read more

The Time We Were Not In Love Episode 10 Recap

Screen Shot 2015-08-01 at 4.47.08 pmThis ep was actually pretty boring which all the steps forward not actually being steps forward. It’s supposed to be a simple one with two people involved but it’s complicated when the two parties are being wishy-washy with their feelings. Guess they have a few more games to play before they will be able to unleash their true feelings for one another. The vacation didn’t seem to do much for Won who has come back with his heart still torn while Ha Na is still trying to understand whether she has made the right decision in getting back together with her former flame. It’s all about decisions, decisions that will lead to better decisions in the future but for now they have to live with the consequences of their current decisions.  Read more

The Time We Were Not In Love Episode 9 Recap

Screen Shot 2015-07-31 at 10.10.12 pm

This ep was all on Ha Na as she follows her heart and whether that is a good decision or not, that will be up to her to find out in due time, but as of now, she is chasing her heart and it’s going to take her on an adventure of a lifetime as she rediscovers love with an old flame. Even though Seo Hoo is a baddie kind of guy but I really like him together with Ha Na and it’s for some unexplainable reason. My heart just prefers him with together with Ha Na. He does love her, just in a way that makes Won’s love for Ha Na superior. Won’s the nice guy and has sidelined his own happiness for Ha Na to chase after her own happiness. He has loved Ha Na for 17 years from the sideline so what more can he lose by continuing to love her from the sideline?  Read more
