2012 End of Year Drama Review

This year I opened myself to different dramas as well as different genres of dramas. There were some ups and some downs and there were some surprises. I haven’t seen as much k-dramas, c-dramas and tw-dramas as I would have liked so my new years resolution for next year is to watch more dramas outside of hk-dramas. As I do not watch k-dramas, c-dramas, dormas/j-dramas and tw-dramas as often as I watch hk-dramas, I tend to be picky with what I watch and usually I would pick up dramas that I find interesting or  appealing to my tastes.

This year I managed to watch some dramas that were really up there as well as a few that fell below the radar. I found myself jumping back into the c-drama bandwagon after a long overdue hiatus and for those that I watched, I found it bombarded with tw-actors/actresses which is probably why I am drawn to them in the first place. Ahahahas! This year, I ventured out into doramas for the first time (yay!) and I was ever so glad I did because this drama literally blew me away and makes me ready to jump into doramas. With hk-dramas, there were a few that I loved but there was only which I loved everything from top to bottom and in between. Even until today I am still swooning over it. I was quite picky with my k-dramas so all in all, I was satisfied with what I watched, though this year with what I watched I find it in high standards of all sorts. Lastly, with tw-dramas, nothing really blew my socks off and I wasn’t overly excited for any one drama so this year for me, I wasn’t too happy with the offerings of tw-dramas when compared to last year’s share. She just isn’t willing to let Xiao Jie steal the feelings that she has had for over 20 something years. Zi Qi tells her that at least in Tang Jun’s heart there is still a place especially for her, even though that is not the place she wants but at least she still exists in his heart.  Read more

Xiao Jie recalls Zi Qi telling that he doesn’t lack anything but a girlfriend who is able to watch the sunrise with him and then him falling asleep during the ‘watch sunrise’ adventure. He tells her that in the past he missed out watching the sunrise with her and today he finally has the chance to fix this. She tells him that there is a sunrise everyday so this is ‘no big deal’. He tells her that this ‘no big deal’ has been missed time and time again and thus causing today’s regret. He hands her his jacket and tells her he missed out the chance of watching the sunrise in Taipei with her, finding her when she left for Shanghai and wiping her tears away when she was hurt in England. He tells her he doesn’t want to miss out any more. He promises that in the future when she needs him he will be by her side. He doesn’t want to miss out anything to do with her. Read more

She will give him the chance to do so if he signs the contract stating he will return the funds to the company. Without a second glance, he sign the paper. Wow, I never thought Tang Mi would go to this extreme to save the company. She is willing to go as far as sacrificing her own happiness. This just shows that she truly willing to do anything for what she wants. But no, she cannot sacrifice her happiness! Poor Tang Mi. But luckily in dramaland, miracles do happen. (:

Tang Mi goes to meet the man, Cai Dong, who could solve all of the company’s problems. She doesn’t waste time and gets straight into the point. SOP Queen Episode 26 Recap

Our OTP are so apart yet they are so close. The only things that limit them from being together at the right time is well, them. They are within each other’s grip but time and time again trouble comes their way and breaks their grip. Apart from that, I really admire Chu Chu’s dedication and her be able to finally take matters in her hold hands. Ohhh, and more sibling bonds. Ahahahahahaa!

Chu Chu and Tang Jun are a big drunk/high from the wine that they had. She sees the broken angel that she gave him and asks him how could he treat it like this? He tells her if it wasn’t because she gave it he would have thrown it out a long time ago. She tells him that gave him this angle because she wants him to think of her when he sees it. They lean closer into each other while Tang Jun thinks of his near kiss with Xiao Jie. They are only centimetres apart when Tang Jun pulls back thinking about everyone’s word which all has a direct link to Xiao Jie. He takes hold of the angel and tells Chu Chu that he will take good care of it. Read more
