2012 End of Year Drama Review

This year I opened myself to different dramas as well as different genres of dramas. There were some ups and some downs and there were some surprises. I haven’t seen as much k-dramas, c-dramas and tw-dramas as I would have liked so my new years resolution for next year is to watch more dramas outside of hk-dramas. As I do not watch k-dramas, c-dramas, dormas/j-dramas and tw-dramas as often as I watch hk-dramas, I tend to be picky with what I watch and usually I would pick up dramas that I find interesting or  appealing to my tastes.

This year I managed to watch some dramas that were really up there as well as a few that fell below the radar. I found myself jumping back into the c-drama bandwagon after a long overdue hiatus and for those that I watched, I found it bombarded with tw-actors/actresses which is probably why I am drawn to them in the first place. Ahahahas! This year, I ventured out into doramas for the first time (yay!) and I was ever so glad I did because this drama literally blew me away and makes me ready to jump into doramas. With hk-dramas, there were a few that I loved but there was only which I loved everything from top to bottom and in between. Even until today I am still swooning over it. I was quite picky with my k-dramas so all in all, I was satisfied with what I watched, though this year with what I watched I find it in high standards of all sorts. Lastly, with tw-dramas, nothing really blew my socks off and I wasn’t overly excited for any one drama so this year for me, I wasn’t too happy with the offerings of tw-dramas when compared to last year’s share. My Opinion on The King 2 Hearts Episode 20

After a long and sightful 10 weeks, this drama has come to a conclusion. Oh boy, there was suspense and then there was relief. One minute you would be off your chair screaming for it to not happen and the next you will be calming yourself of just what has occurred.

TK2H really ended with two hearts. This drama wasn’t just about the North and South Korean tension but the hearts between each of the characters. There was power, strength and persistence. If it weren’t for these factors, TK2H would not be TK2H. Unity is the most important aspect of this drama not just for North and South Korea but the unity for two hearts – Hang Ah and Jae Ha.

Overall, this drama ended as I would expect it to, actually it was better than that. Of course Bong Goo would get locked up forever, Korea will unite as one as would Hang Ah and Jae Ha. Read more

My Opinion on The King 2 Hearts Episode 19

This drama just continues to bring on the unexpected. Since it is nearing the end you would think that everything would be smooth-sailing here on out but something else just appears to bring on a crisis for our characters, especially Jae Ha and Hang Ah. My emotions truly went on a roller coaster. I cried, then got angry and then grew pissed off. My hopes also went on a roller coaster. TK2H really knows how to get someone’s hopes up doesn’t it? I don’t recalling myself crying so much with any Korean drama in a while. This episode has got to be the saddest, yet… Read more

My Opinion on The King 2 Hearts Episode 18

A nice way to end the episode – with a cliff hanger at a cliff. I sincerely hope that all of this is just a plan of Eun Shi Kyung. My heart would shatter if he really changed sides. I can’t handle this any more after everything that has happened in this episode. My heart literally stopped beating the moment the arrow shot. They made it seem like she got shot through the head, oh am I glad that she is alive. Sparks really do fly in this episode. Relationships are heating up. 😉 I loved the bromance.  Read more

My Opinion on The King 2 Hearts Episode 17

Once again Jae Ha and Hang Ah are separated. This time more is on the line than ever. They have to not only have mutal trust within each other but confident. They must be strong to get passed this fight of theirs. For them, getting this fight means not only means their unity but the strengthening of Korea.

Distance, something that I have been eyeing over throughout this entire episode. I am so glad of the connection between the characters. The connection between each of the characters is very much on target. Everyone has this special distance between them, and we have watched them grow from a little baby to an adult. However, with some of them, it didn’t feel ‘there’…

At long last secrets are revealed. These secrets will either make or break our characters. With nothing more between our characters, there can only be so much that are left for this drama to run. So it’s time to blow out some mind-blowing secrets.  Read more

My Opinion on The King 2 Hearts Episode 16

As if Jae ha’s world has not been blown up already, it takes on another shocking blow. After the lost of his brother, he seriously cannot afford to any of his loved ones at risk. He is being pushed into the corner once again with his mother and Hang Ah being held by Bong Goo as hostage. He cannot risk losing his loved ones as much as cannot risk the nation. He can only hope for a plan that is perfect in both ways. Now everything is heating up. I actually don’t mind the shortage of the WOC as long as things are going the way they are. Read more

My Opinion on The King 2 Hearts Episode 15

I enjoyed the WOC. At the start of the drama, there was a lot of emphasis on the WOC. However, as the drama progressed, the emphasis was put elsewhere, especially towards Bong Goo. I expected the WOC to play a larger part in the drama, but my expectations was dulled away. I was really interested in the WOC. I would have liked it to be more extended but then that would take up the Bong Goo times… Trust, precisely mutal trust is what is required for both our couples if they are going to live it out in the long run. Jae Shin takes a big step and makes a confession that could make or break everything. Read more

My Opinion on The King 2 Hearts Episode 14

It’s time to go into battle! They are actually getting into battle, with suits, weapons all all! (: I can’t wait to see what happens next. I really want to see how the WOC progresses with the very strategic team of Korea, united Korea. The WOC allowed the bonding between the team mates. Ahahahaaa, though it’s kind of awkward with that new member… I liked it with Shi Kyung but…well, now it’s time for him to shine by staying by the princess’ side. He actually has some significant screen time in this ep! I’m not saying that he doesn’t sufficient screen time, it’s just that I love to see his poker-ish face.  Read more

My Opinion on The King 2 Hearts Episode 13

Jae Ha and Hang Ah must be really confident to put their marriage on WOC.  They have decided to risk it all; they won’t get engaged unless they succeed through to the second round of the WOC. As the drama progresses, Jae Shin is taking baby steps to overcoming her fear of…fear. Yay, yay, yay! What this drama was all about in the first place – the WOC and the unity of North and South Korea. The unity of North and South Korea with the marriage is sure going to shake Bong Goo. I seriously can’t wait to see him go down. Read more

My Opinion on The King 2 Hearts Episode 12

Yay! He proposed to her! Yay, yay, yay! What I looked forward to the most! I was so happy and filled with tears. Though I did find it funny when he said ‘I will never let you shed another teardrop’ because that phrase has been more than well overused. What a brilliant hour that was, filled with action after action and throw in some romance and you have a pretty amazing drama there! The more I watch this the more and more I am loving Jae Ha. I am also loving the cute little signs and interactions between the princess and royal palace guard. Read more
