It’s less than three hours before the final ep hits our screens! Today I was constantly refreshing In A Good Way‘s blog for the written preview and just when I thought it wasn’t going to appear, it did. The written preview pairs up with the video previews nicely. It centres of freedom, the very thing that IAGW set out to tell a story on as it closes up this chapter of the book. Freedom means something different to each of the characters and they all have a very personal story regarding this. For many, freedom means stepping out from parents’ care but for Liu Chuan and Jia En, freedom stems outside of that. The freedom that they have individually envisioned is quite different but it is because of this difference that allows them to really complement each other and bring out the best from one another. I love that Liu Chuan and Jia En have remained true to themselves even as their relationship blossomed from friendship to gf/bf. I love that they don’t change for one another but rather, they allow their differences to help them grow as a couple. IAGW has been a stellar of a drama and I am just so happy and grateful for its excellence in presenting such a real and sincere story. Read more
After seeing the video preview my heart felt very broken but I think it has healed since reading the written preview. The consequence of the treasure is something that Liu Chuan must face whether he likes it or not. This is a hurdle that he must jump over in order to have any chance of repairing his relationship with his father. I honestly do not think that his father is all that bad of a person despite all of the corrupt things that he might have done. It’s something that I’ve mentioned numerous times but it is also something very true – Daddy Liu is above all Liu Chuan’s father. He just wants his son to live a good life and has numerous plans to see this happen. I’m hoping that the distance between the father and son can be repaired because it would be such a shame to have the drama end with them having a strain on their relationship.
It’s interesting how the drama is making references to Titanic. I’ve never seen the movie but one must be living under a rock not to know what it is about. Titanic a romance story but it is also the same time about chasing after freedom which is something that each of the characters can relate to. It is something that our characters have been chasing after but it has not been an easy process. The process was filled with pain as well as a lot of holes but one can only run to the best of their abilities and that is what they did. This ship is almost back to shore and I am confident that it will not sink. Read more
Looks like we will be getting some skinship this ep because there is going to be a kiss between the lovebirds! I am definitely excited because any skinship between them is just something so tender and speaks so much in terms of how much they feel for one another. It’s a given that they are going to have a happy ending because there is nothing in this world that can separate them. Regardless of the difficulties that they have to face, they will always be there for each other, supporting each other through every step.
Jia En and Liu Chuan are as true to themselves as ever. Facing his father’s doing is just crushing his strength but being the type of person he is, Liu Chuan would just rather face the difficulties alone by himself than to drag someone in to share his pain. It is just a very Liu Chuan thing for him to do. It hurts me to see him this way because he tries to remain tough on the outside when really, what he needs is someone to cuddle with and someone who he can cry to without judgement. Jia En is that someone but he doesn’t want to pull her in because he doesn’t want her to get hurt because of him. However, being the kind of girl she is, Jia En is more than happy to be the shoulder for her boyfriend the cry one and the person for him to cuddle with. Liu Chuan needs to know that he can break down in front of Jia En any time and she will still be there for him just as he is for her. Together, they will be able to make it through anything! The cast for In A Good Way finished filming this week and news having been rolling in this entire week of the cast filming their last scenes one at a time. There was a lot of tears on sight and I am teary myself knowing that this drama is coming to a closure. I didn’t follow it from the start for I only hoped on board when it started gathering rave reviews but every week since I hoped on board, it has been quite painful to wait for the release of each ep. This drama resonates deeply with life which is why this drama touches base with us as the audience. It did not fall into clichéd storylines and neither was there a need for it to do it. It tells of heartfelt stories which is what connects with us and I guess this makes the drama that much more endearing to the heart. Even as an audience, I felt like I was a part of the drama and a part of the IAGW gang. That is something that I don’t think any other drama has ever done to me. I have followed this through and through, catching it week after week and reading every piece of news about it. Now that it is drawing to an end, my heart is just not ready to part with it yet. It’s been about half a year since it first started airing and so much has happened during that time in both the dramaland and the real world. I’ve witnessed the characters grow and watched them as they made decisions that shaped who they are. I’ve laughed alongside them. I’ve cried with them. I’ve felt my heart break for them. More importantly, they have made me smile happily. Dayum, I am going to miss this happy family bad when it all draws to a closure in three eps! Read more
The stills are making me really anxious about the future for our OTP! Both Jia En and Liu Chuan are looking pierced in the heart! Regardless of how smooth-sailing their relationship has been, the future has never been concrete for the them and this whole journey that they are going on right now is about setting in place their future. What they are going through right now is a test regarding their relationship. Relationships aren’t just merely about two people. Aside from their feelings for each other, there are number of external and contextual factors that affect their progress. There are some things that have already been set in place and are just waiting for the right time to blossom, just like the treasure that Liu Chuan’s grandfather left behind. Although we don’t know what the treasure may be but one thing for sure is that this will have a definite impact on the OTP’s future, just don’t separate them and my heart will be at ease.
The very first still was found on IAGW‘s FB page and it looks like there will be some man-to-man talk with the guys! That, I look forward to. Maybe that will be Ren Wei taking a few steps forward in moving on from Jia En? I really hope so, but I don’t want to see Ren Wei just stuck in a pot hole of trying to reach for something out of his reach. Ren Wei deserves to be happy as much as any of his friends do. I want to see him smiling happily when he looks at Jia En and not putting on a fake smile filled with pain. He will be able to find his happiness, I’m sure of it! Read more
Ep 21 is almost here! And it’s all about the treasure that Liu Chuan’s grandfather left behind for him. It might have been left for him but it is no longer just his treasure to find. Finding and chasing for it is all leading up to freedom for the entire Treasure Hunting Club committee. This is no longer just a task that affects Liu Chuan but it is also something that means a lot to the rest of the club members. I love that the club is very close-knitted and how everyone is pitching in to find this treasure. Their friendship is adorably sweet and it is just so nice to see how they interact with one another. It is something that is very real and something that is portrayed very well in the drama. I’m going to miss this watching this friendship when this is all over. I’ve been saying a lot of parting words today with IAGW when in reality it still has three more weeks left. I must stop and look on the bright side. We’ve got to treasure this while it lasts because IAGW will definitely go down as one of the best idol dramas ever ever ever. Read more
I really believe that every happening has its own reason. Nothing happens without reason and when it does happen, there is something behind it that pushes it to happen. Even if you don’t like what is happening, you can only push through with it because you can only change the future and not the past. It is a matter of taking into your hands and shaping it to be apart of your journey, whatever that may be. Regrets might come but at least you can have the comfort of knowing that it was your decision and no one else’s. Ren Wei might be regretting it not confessing to Jia En but it was a decision that he made which he now has to stick by. He might have regrets regarding but it is a decision that he made with his own hands. If this is where he wants his life you head, he can only look at himself and blame himself for the decision. It only happened because he allowed it to happen and no one can change this but himself.
Liu Chuan’s freedom has been quite limited, his freedom has been tied down by his father’s directions but that is not what he wants. He wants to be free, to have the ability to do what he wants and the ability to live his life his way. This is why he is going to take matters in his own hands and really fight for his freedom. And it was Jia En who has given him the strength for this fight. Liu Chuan is a strong guy but Jia En just makes him stronger and braver. He is not going to give up until he fights for it and fighting for it is what he is going to do. Read more
^Hi there Momo, I’ve missed seeing you around!
Friday’s finally here and I am so glad for its arrival. It’s the end of a school week and time for my weekly dose of In A Good Way – something that I have been craving for all week, especially with the tease that the lovebirds have been giving. I can’t believe that the journey with IAGW is nearing the end already! I am going to be very sad to have nothing to look forward to on my weekends but I guess you have to make the most of what you have while it is here at your hands. The lovebirds recently went down to Hong Kong for a special date (and work purposes) and it just way way way too cute! And tonight we are going to get more cuteness! Yes, a kiss is on the coming and that is seriously going to be waaaaay too sweet for me considering the sweetness that they have been giving off this week.
Ha. So that’s why Jia En is resulting to non-proven methods to test for her one true love! When you’re in love, even the most insensible things to do makes sense to you! One thing that I have mentioned before that I love about this drama is how it incorporates the calendar into its happenings, allowing our characters to grow in accordance to certain festive seasons. This is something that something most dramas miss out on while IAGW does an exceptional job on. It lets this be the backdrop to letting the characters tackle different obstacles and as such, it further accentuates their already well developed personalities. Chinese Valentine’s Day is coming for the lovebirds and I expect to see lots of love coming from them!
So far, In A Good Way has been very focused on building up our character’s uni, social and romantic life but looming around the corner is their very first step out into the bigger world. This is a territory that will take our beloved drama to a different level. It will affect the drama big time, with it dictating how relationships out to play out. It will put our lovebirds on a boat where they will have to work hard to keep floating. It is not going to be something easy to do but it will definitely be something that will bond them closer together. This is not going to be a sinking boat but they need to put into the same amount of effort together to keep it on balance, something that I am sure they will do very well together. I am excited to see this new stage of life for the characters and how it will affect their lives because it will be a huge change from everything that we have come to know.
Hoooootttt stuff coming guys! The written preview is complementary to the video preview, giving hints but not overstepping its boundaries. It chock full of sizzling, accelerating and pumping tension left and right! It builds on the video preview, with Liu Chuan ultimately the one feeling pressured in the progression of their relationship. The lovebirds’ increasing heart rates are also making my race! I feel the anxiety when they are with each other but at the same time, their romance feels very reserved and centric to helping our characters grow as students taking steps forward in their lives. Romance plays a big component in their lives and despite all the focus on it, I love that it doesn’t take away from our characters growing as people. There are also other aspects to their lives which help to shape them and I love that it also plays a huge part to their lives. The drama incorporates these elements really well together while not taking away from the romantic development that we want to see. That’s a good thing because there will definitely be lots this ep!
I really love this and the things that go on BTS. Lego Lee and Lorene Ren have a really strong chemistry and comfortable relationship between them which makes what they bring on-screen really strong. Ha, what’s hilarious is that Lego and Lorene practically have no boundaries between them in real life. They are caring and tentative to one another and even when filming, they manage to pull off jokes and creating a really relaxing environment between them. This is a reason why I ship them two on and off screen! Read more
